Ron's Shed came into existance in early 2008 when Derek & Keith wanted to do something on top of the worship music that they were playing at Kingsnorth Church. Helen (Ron's wife) had said that Ron would like to get back into playing with a band. So Derek contacted his old friend and ex Checkers lead guitarist Bob Evans, who promply came on board. We all met in Ron's Shed one Sunday afternoon and had a great time. Everyone wanted to carry on! so Ely was brought in to bring in some glamour & vocal talent; Keith & Ron exchanged instruments and Ron's Shed was born.
However, it wasn't until about a year later that the first live performance took place. Everything was being chucked at us; illness, holidays, redundancy, Christmas but we persevered and on Saturday January 31st 2009 Ron's Shed played to an enthusiastic audience of 150 people at Ashford Town Cricket Club. This was going to be a 'one off' but due to the huge response from the assembled crowd, we're back to do more.
In April 2011, after 3 years with the band Bob Evans decided to leave. The remaining four have decided to carry on, initially, as a 4 piece and see where that will lead. The next chapter of Ron's Shed begins.
